Director. Producer. Teaching Artist.

I believe in community.
For me, the magic of theatre is when a group of people with different experiences and different skill sets, from all different backgrounds, join together to make a vision come to life!
In addition to staging, it is the director's responsibility to create a safe and collaborative space AND nurture each artist within that space.
I pride myself on being a cheerleader for each of my teammates. I believe everyone does their best work when they feel supported and empowered, so I make time for community building, check-ins, and laughter on every project.
In my directing work, I value truth-telling.
I prioritize table work, moment-to-moment, relationship building, and weaving in opportunities for physical contact and connection.
Human beings are complicated, messy, and inherently flawed - and that's not something we should shy away from on stage. I want to dig into complex characters who feel like the beautifully twisted people in my real life.
Devoted to motivation, I want to work with actors to find intent and urgency for each moment so they can freely dive deeper into the world of the play.
I think every director must also be their own dramaturg, and dedicate time for homework before each production. I want to understand the details of each world I work on, and I want to be able to educate my team on my findings.
I believe clear and kind communication is a must for every director, and work hard to practice this in all aspects of my life.
Finally, I am uninterested in the boring and over-done. I am excited by new works, fresh adaptations and revivals, and exhilarating casting choices! I believe directors should always be asking - how can I bring something different to this? how can I say something new? how can I bring this work to new audiences? I believe working alongside artists with different experiences than yourself will add richness to every text, and will always seek to provide opportunities to collaborators who challenge my perspective.
